NJCAA National Office Staff Updates
Andrew Givens Promoted to Vice President
Following an incredible first year with the NJCAA National office, Andrew Givens has been promoted to Vice President for Marketing, Multimedia, Partnership and Community Outreach from his current role as Assistant Vice President. Earlier this year, Mr. Givens was also named the new Executive Director of the NJCAA Foundation, replacing Dr. Christopher J. Parker, who served as interim Executive Director.
"In just 12 months on the job, Andrew has already made lasting impacts on the NJCAA in a positive manner," stated Dr. Christopher J. Parker, President and CEO. "I am proud to have Mr. Givens serving alongside myself and the leadership team as we continue to move the association forward and I know he is committed to doing just that."
Mr. Givens has over four decades of professional experience in all areas of media, entertainment, and sports outreach and engagement from ESPN, FOX Sports, NBC, ABC, STARZ, HBO/MAX, BET and others. He has been instrumental in the upcoming launch of the NJCAA Network Studio that will bring a whole new level of exposure for the NJCAA.
On the promotion, Mr. Givens stated "It's a pleasure to be a member of the NJCAA team. It's been an exhilarating year, but as we start the '25 –'26 academic year I am enthusiastic with the opportunity to support our NJCAA member schools, student athletes, and partners with our refocus of the Marketing & Communications and the Sport Operations and Championship teams".
Department Changes at NJCAA
Starting with the marketing team, Kyle Eager will continue as Marketing & Communications Manager. Amanda Turner, formerly Athletic Communications Associate, is now Marketing & Communications Associate.
The marketing and communications department will focus on promoting the NJCAA and increasing brand awareness, in collaboration with the multimedia department.
"It is with great pleasure that I announce that Zach McKinstry, Multimedia Manager, will be officially known as The Voice of the NJCAA. Not only has Zach been responsible for managing the creation of NJCAA content but he has been the on-air talent on ESPN during our DI Football Championship, DI Basketball Championship and DI Baseball World Series," stated Andrew Givens.
Dr. Brett Monaghan, Vice President for Championships, Membership, & Sports Governance has strategically aligned the Championship & Events team with the goal of enhancing the Championship experience for our NJCAA student-athletes. The new position of Sport Operations & Championships Associate, under the guidance and direction of the Sport Operations & Championships Manager, will be responsible for a set of assigned sports from start to finish. This includes publishing national rankings, liaising with NJCAA committees, planning national championships and invitationals, and executing other membership needs for their assigned sports.
"The new Sport Operations and Championships department will help our office better serve membership and produce elite championship events. These strategic adjustments allow our staff to devote more attention to each sport and streamline the relationships between the national office and championship hosts," Dr. Brett Monaghan explained.
Kalyn Fetter is now Sport Operations and Championships Manager. The following are Sport Operations and Championships Associates: Wolf Brethorst, Rebekah Cook, Jerry McCarty, and Lydia Morris.
