NJCAA launches Compete NJCAA for prospective student-athletes
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced the launch of Compete NJCAA, the home for prospective student-athletes to learn about the national governing body of two-year collegiate athletics and the opportunities its member colleges provide. As the second-largest national intercollegiate athletic organization, nearly 70,000 student-athletes compete within the association and its over 500 member colleges each year. With this national initiative, all potential student-athletes have an opportunity to learn about the benefits of attending a two-year institution in addition to searching NJCAA member colleges by state, division and sport.
"This all-in-one resource places the necessary facts and information into the hands of student-athletes directly, allowing them to take the next steps towards an NJCAA opportunity," stated Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President and CEO. "For those looking to compete at a high level of collegiate athletics while enhancing their academic and athletic skills, the NJCAA has something for everyone."
Compete NJCAA dives deep into cost comparisons of two-year colleges versus four-year institutions, details specific eligibility requirements for prospective transfers or student-athletes, breaks down scholarship allowances per division, spotlights prominent NJCAA alumni, and features an exclusive NJCAA college search feature to explore colleges, regions, sport offerings, and more. By visiting this new platform, prospective student-athletes and those that are supporting them in their mission to play collegiate athletics can take the next steps towards recruitment and making an NJCAA institution their new home.
Joining the NJCAA is unlike any other collegiate athletic experience. As the only national governing body for two-year collegiate athletics, the NJCAA has been defining the 'JUCO' experience since 1938. The ability to garner regional and national athletic and academic honors in a competitive environment full of like-minded individuals makes the NJCAA stand out among the rest. The NJCAA supports equitable opportunities consistent with the educational objectives of each member institution and student-athlete, recognizing the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics and the intersection of student-athletes' rights and athletic participation. By visiting Compete NJCAA, student-athletes may learn more about the history of the association, its championships, and diverse achievements by its student-athletes and members.
With 28 sports across three divisions, see how the NJCAA promotes student-athletes via national television exposure, such as CBS Sports Network, the NJCAA Network, the association's exclusive home for digital content, and various digital and social media outlets across 15 growing platforms by heading over to the new platform, njcaa.org/compete.
