Grant Jordan of Pasco-Hernando State Tabbed DII Baseball Defensive Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC – Pasco-Hernando State's Grant Jordan has been named the 2025 NJCAA Division II Baseball Defensive Player of the Year, capping off an excellent sophomore season.
Jordan takes home the honor after posting an impressive .979 fielding percentage with 22 double plays, 119 assists, 72 put outs, and four errors. The sophomore Bobcat was one of the key players in the middle infield that led them to claim their first world series title.
"Grant Jordan was the anchor of our defense all season," Head Coach Lyndon Coleman explained. "His instincts, range, and arm made him a game-changer at shortstop. To only make four errors all year at such a demanding position is truly remarkable and almost unheard of. As a coach, there's no better feeling than knowing that nearly every time a ball is hit toward your shortstop, it's going to be an out."
Jordan has committed to play at the four-year level for Georgia Southern.
